A cornerstone of Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood since 1980, Woodland Pattern is a nonprofit book center, gallery, and performance space. Each year, we present over 350 cultural events and educational programs that promote advanced literacy and creative expression in people of all ages while encouraging exchange across the performing, visual, and literary arts. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Woodland Pattern has been forced to close its doors for the first time in four decades. Our mission, however, remains unchanged, and we are finding alternative ways to continue serving our local and national communities from a safe distance. The need for poetry and the arts—and the comfort and connection they supply—is at an all-time high. Thank you for helping us weather this existential threat while continuing to proliferate the fundamental benefits associated with a life enriched by reading and writing.
